** Monumentum is Meditative Part of MSU Museum Co-Lab Exhibit at MSUFCU in Downtown East Lansing ------------------------------------------------------------ Berlin-based artist Abel Korinsky's three months spent in residence at Michigan State University’s Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) resulted in "Monumentum." The exhibit is the first that the MSU Museum is featuring in its new, temporary location on the sixth floor of the Michigan State University Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) location at 311 Abbot Road in downtown East Lansing.
From his immersive experience at the FRIB, Korinsky developed an art installation that reinterprets humanity’s origins through the lens of nuclear astrophysics. He used generative tools to visually represent the human form based on star data, which is accompanied by a soundscape that simulates neutron star collisions. The effect is a meditative experience on shape and color open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. The exhibit runs through Saturday, Dec. 14. There is no admission fee. * Learn more about the exhibit at museum.msu.edu/ (https://museum.msu.edu/exhibition/artist-in-residence-abel-korinsky/) * Additional photos of Monumentum via Flickr (https://www.flickr.com/photos/194199084@N04/albums/72177720320988225/) * Read more about the FRIB (https://frib.msu.edu/) * MSUFCU online at www.msufcu.org (https://www.msufcu.org/)
