** Spring Yard Waste Collection in East Lansing
------------------------------------------------------------

Community members are advised that the City of East Lansing's yard waste collection will resume for the 2022 growing seasons this April.

Regular yard waste collection will be offered on Mondays beginning Monday, April 4. Prior collection requests (online or by phone) and City bags/stickers are required for regular yard waste collection and there are several yard waste guidelines that need to be followed. Community members can learn more by checking out the City's Yard Waste Collection webpage (https://www.cityofeastlansing.com/yardwaste) .

No-fee yard waste collection days will also be offered this spring and fall. On these days, community members do not need to make a prior collection request or use City bags/stickers, but all other guidelines do apply. Spring no-fee dates are listed below:

East Side (homes east of Abbot Road): April 18 & May 9
West Side (homes west of Abbot Road): April 25 & May 16

Community members should note that regular yard waste collection is not offered on no-fee days, meaning there will be no regular yard waste collection on the City's west side when no-fee yard waste collection is taking place on the east side, and vice versa.

For additional information about the City's yard waste collection program, including all yard waste guidelines, an online collection request form for regular yard waste collection and details on how to purchase City yard waste stickers and bags, visit the Yard Waste Collection webpage (https://www.cityofeastlansing.com/yardwaste) .

------------------------------------------------------------
With the arrival of spring, several road construction and infrastructure projects have started or will be starting soon in the City of East Lansing. Community members can find details below about two construction projects that will require the closure of two major intersections in East Lansing next week:

Burcham Drive Water Valve Replacement Project
The Burcham Drive Water Valve Replacement Project began this week in East Lansing, which involves spot water main replacement in the Grove Street Alley, from Elizabeth Street north to Burcham Drive and on Burcham Drive, from Abbot Road to Park Lake Road. The project is tentatively expected to be completed by April 22, weather permitting, and will require lane closures on Burcham Drive (local traffic will be maintained) as well as a full closure of the Burcham-Hagadorn intersection the week of March 28. Detours will be in place for the intersection closure and the intersection is scheduled to be re-opened by the end of next week. Learn more (https://www.cityofeastlansing.com/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1644) .

East Glencairn Neighborhood Improvements Project
The East Glencairn Neighborhood Improvements Project will resume the week of March 28 in East Lansing. The project is continuing from 2021 and includes utility upgrades (water main replacement and combined sewer replacement) as well as road improvement work in the neighborhood. Water main replacement will begin next week along Northlawn Avenue, beginning at Harrison Road and progressing east towards Rosewood Avenue. To accommodate this work, the Harrison-Northlawn intersection will be closed March 28, with plans to have the intersection re-opened by April 2. Detours will be in place for Harrison Road traffic. Residents of the neighborhood can find additional details about the project schedule and how to receive weekly updates on the project here (https://www.cityofeastlansing.com/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1645) .
