** Transportation Commission to Hold Public Hearing for Hagadorn Road Improvements Project
------------------------------------------------------------

The East Lansing Transportation Commission will host a public hearing on Monday, Dec. 4 from 6-8 p.m. at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road, Room 235. The topic of discussion will be the Hagadorn Road Improvements project, which is currently in design. The highlighted areas on the above map show where milling and resurfacing work is being done. As part of the project, a proposed bike lane reconfiguration will restripe the roadway from two travel lanes in each direction to one travel lane and one bike lane in each direction with a center two-way left turn lane. This process is known as a "road diet." The project is scheduled to begin in mid-summer 2024 (weather permitting) and extend through fall 2024. The road will be partially closed to traffic during this time, however, local traffic will be maintained as much as possible. Questions about the project should be directed to City of East Lansing Department of Public Works Engineering Administrator Stephen Clayton, PE,
at sclayton@cityofeastlansing.com, by phone at (517) 749-4597. Learn more here. (https://cityofeastlansing.civicweb.net/document/332606/)

** The Season of Giving: ELPRA Food Drive Starts Today and Runs Through December 15
------------------------------------------------------------

The East Lansing Department of Parks, Recreation and Arts (ELPRA) is hosting a holiday food drive to benefit the Greater Lansing Food Bank this season.

The goal for this year’s holiday food drive is to collect 1,500 pounds of food. Donations should be dropped off inside the East Lansing Hannah Community Center (ELHCC), 819 Abbot Road now through Friday, Dec. 15 during the hours that the ELHCC is open to the public.View the building hours here (https://cityofeastlansing.com/825/Building-Hours) .

Items that have been requested for this year’s collection include instant mashed potatoes, broth, stuffing mix, pie crusts and ingredients for making cookies, such as frosting, sprinkles and easy-mix cookie dough. All items should be shelf-stable and not require refrigeration. Community members should also avoid donating items that are in glass containers. Glass can chip or break in the donation bins, contaminating the other donations and potentially injuring volunteers.

Donations should be placed in one of the clean East Lansing curbside recycling carts inside the ELHCC. Community members who donate to the food drive will be entered into a drawing to win fun prizes from ELHCC.
